H2Global is an Inter Mobility project funded by the FNR to enable Professor Manoj Neergat from the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay to spend 12 months working in the Paul Wurth Chair developing collaborative research concepts for electrochemical reactions, systems and materials relevant to renewable hydrogen system.

Professor Neergat completed his visit in three blocks of 3 months in 2023, 3 months in 2024 and 6 months in 2025, embedding deeply into the research and academic life of the Paul Wurth Chair and the Department of Engineering more broadly.

As a result of the collaboration, he now supports a newly commenced PhD project in the Paul Wurth Chair (Ms. Lei Lei, developing new electrocatalyst materials and heriarchically structured materials for the Alkalkine Exchange Membrane Water Electrolyser) together with Professor Ladewig. Ms Lei will spend part of her PhD working in Mumbai with Professor Neergat.
